Our Biomedical Sciences division was created in 2002 with the purpose of participating in complex therapeutic disciplines, such as oncology, organ transplant, dialysis, diabetes and autoimmune diseases. Since its creation, it has formed a product portfolio that covers the most significant therapeutic needs of such areas; this division also actively participates in HIV, Epilepsy and Respiratory diseases Programs.
To comply with the above purpose, the laboratory has 13 brands with 44 presentations; the products in the existing portfolio as well as those currently under study are highly sophisticated, being the most important among them biosimilars and biological. The main products of this division are: T-Inmun, for transplant treatments; Eritrelan, for patients undergoing dialysis; Lioplim, for patients with cancer; Zeite, for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukemia, and Reditux, for patients with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma and rheumatoid arthritis. Reditux (rituximab) is the first of a series of biosimilar monoclonal antibodies that will change the course of medicine in the next decade. CFR, through Biomedical Sciences division is a pioneer in biosimilar monoclonal antibodies in Latin America and it has already changed the lives of thousands of Latin Americans that nowadays have an access to this state-of-the-art medicine.
Since 2004 the division’s operations have experienced a geographic expansion and currently they have a presence in 8 countries, being pioneers in the introduction of last generation molecules and biosimilars.
